Several consultations are currently in progress.

The DHSC consultation on pharmacy supervision ends on 29 February 2024. PLEA has submitted a response that you can read here https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:EU:a963b6f1-27dc-4dc6-b745-0d68f624a86b

The General Pharmaceutical Council is currently consulting on standards for Chief Pharmacists in hospitals and other services such as prisons. You can access the consultation here https://www.pharmacyregulation.org/sites/default/files/document/consultation-on-draft-standards-for-chief-pharmacists-january-2024.pdf (apologies to PLEA members who have previously seen this news item twice already: we have had email problems related to our website and our website has just migrated to a new host).

The DHSC is consulting on amendments to legislation that refers to Public Health England. Public Health England was abolished because of ministerial dissatisfaction with its performance during the pandemic, and replaced by the UK Health Security Agency. However, some legislation, for example in relation to patient group directions, still refers to Public Health England. The consultation to remove or replace those references can be accessed here https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/amending-references-to-phe-and-hscb-in-the-human-medicines-regulations/making-amendments-to-the-references-to-public-health-england-and-the-regional-health-and-social-care-board-within-the-human-medicines-regulations-2012
